Aldi to expand into Pottstown, Malvern

The Aldi grocery store chain will soon be opening stores in Pottstown and Malvern, part of a $3.4 billion investment to build new stores across the country.

The new Pottstown store, in the Pottstown Center Shopping Center, 223 Shoemaker Road, is scheduled to open at the end of June, writes Donna Rovins at dailylocal.com.

The Pottstown and Malvern stores are among 750 new stores the company plans to open by the end of 2022. The supermarket chain currently operates 1,750 stores.

To prepare for the openings, Aldi is looking for staff for the new stores, as well as existing stores in Blue Bell, Coatesville, Exton, Limerick, Norristown and Lower Pottsgrove.

The next  event will be held Thursday, June 7 from 2 to p.m. at the Aldi at 154 Airport Road, Coatesville — to fill positions in Coastesville, Exton and the new Malvern store.

Applicants must be 18 years or older to apply, according to information provided by Aldi. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Applicants must be available to work any time between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
