Bryn Mawr Chemist Launches Luxury Skincare Line for Women Over 40

Bryn Mawr chemist Jennifer Sherak launches a biotech-based luxury skincare line for women over 40, blending science with self-care.

A Bryn Mawr chemist and former pharmaceutical executive is bringing scientific precision to the skincare industry, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Jennifer Sherak created a new luxury line designed specifically for women over 40. She founded the biotech-driven brand Sherak. She operates the one-woman company from her home on the Main Line, supported by a network of 20 contractors and U.S.-based suppliers.

After a career in global drug commercialization, including a leadership role at AmerisourceBergen (now Cencora), Sherak used her chemistry expertise to create what she calls a “skin renewal chemistry system.” The three-step Sherak System features an oil cleanser, serum, and moisturizer. A two-month supply sells for $575.

Sherak expressed that the market offers products with a one-size-fits-all all approach that tends to target a younger demographic. “When you look at the images of brands, it’s often younger women,” she said. “I’m after an age group that can tend to feel invisible.”

With plans to expand online and through Amazon, Sherak aims to surpass $1 million in sales next year. Experts from Temple University and New York’s AB Creative note her strategy taps into a booming niche driven by transparency around menopause and aging.
