Fort Washington-based Toll Brothers recently paid $19.5 million for a development site on a former golf course in Florida to build a luxury home community, writes Brian Bandell for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The seller of the 20.9-acre site was the city of Parkland. According to the deed included in the sales agreement, the luxury homebuilder must adhere to the development plan already approved by the city.
Saltgrass at Heron Bay, the new community, will include 52 single-family homes, starting at 2,632 square feet and exceeding 4,000 square feet, priced from $1.6 million.
Toll Brothers held a groundbreaking ceremony for the newest Florida project, with homes set to go on the market in spring 2026.
“Our new Saltgrass at Heron Bay community will offer residents the rare opportunity to build a new construction home within the well-established Heron Bay master-planned community and highly desirable Parkland area,” said Jonathan Carter, division president of Southeast Florida for Toll Brothers.
The city of Parkland agreed to sell the site to the Montgomery County developer in 2023. The property was previously the Heron Bay golf course.
