National Kids Gym in Plymouth Meeting is a mobile gymnastics program that brings gymnastics directly to daycares and elementary schools in the region, reports Jennaphr Frederick for FOX 29 Philadelphia.
The program is tailored to kids aged between two and six years old and can be hosted anywhere, including apartment complexes with gym areas, for example.
“Our program is a really nice exposure to them so they can go to a larger box gym and feel confident, because they know they’ve seen a bar before, they know they’ve seen a trampoline,” said Katie Aberg, owner of National Kids Gym. “So we’re kind of a feeder program for those larger gyms. So, two years old, three, four, five, it’s excellent before they specialize in a sport.”
She added that kids are also building their body awareness and becoming comfortable with regular exercise during these classes, and as an added bonus, it teaches them different ways to push through challenges in order to achieve success.
“We like to say that we push them outside their comfort zone in a safe and comfortable setting,” said Aberg.
