Kathy Romano, a Conshohocken resident and former Preston & Steve cohost, is joining Audacy to launch two new shows starting next week on B101, writes Rob Tornoe for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
After spending the past four months off air because of WMMR layoffs by parent company Beasley Media Group, Romano, who finally could sleep past 4 a.m., is eager to return and dive back into broadcasting.
“It wasn’t that tough to sleep past 4 a.m.,” said Romano. “I had a nice little rest, but now I’m ready to set my alarm clock before the sun comes up and get back to work.”
The first show, called The Kathy Romano Show, will launch on September 23. It will air from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and on it Romano will be joined by co-hosts, Bobby Smith and Laura Boss.
“Right now it’s music heavy,” said Romano. “I came from a pure talk show that didn’t play very much music at all, so it’s going to be somewhere in between.”
From 10 a.m. to noon, Romano will lead a solo midday show designed to feature an increased selection of music.
