After a two-year wait, Eataly will open at King of Prussia Mall on Thursday, Oct. 2, writes Michael Klein for the Philadelphia Inquirer.
The eatery will take a one-level, 21,000-square-foot space on the Plaza side that replaces the former Rite Aid and Forever 21. It will be the brand’s 17th North American location.
La Pizza & La Pasta anchors the site with seating for more than 200 indoors and 90 on a covered patio, serving Neapolitan pizza, artisanal pasta, and a 450-label wine list. Quick-service counters include Lavazza coffee; Roman-style pizza by the slice, plus panini and farcita at Pizza alla Pala; La Pasticceria pastries; and gelato.
A market and wine shop round out the floor, with salumi and formaggi sliced to order. Ten days of tastings and demos follow opening day.
Founded by Oscar Farinetti in 2007, Eataly entered the U.S. in 2010. “It’s going to take King of Prussia to the next level,” said Rachel Ammon of the King of Prussia District. Ammon cites an upswing that includes Netflix House November 12 and new spots like Wonder, Peter Chang, and Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar. Tommy’s Tavern & Tap is also slated for October and Dave & Buster’s is targeting 2026.
