Several independent and private schools in Montgomery County are undertaking major projects to enhance and modernize their campuses in 2025, writes Todd Romero for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Hill Top Preparatory School in Bryn Mawr recently added a $5,000 state-of-the-art golf simulator to its athletic facility and invested $40,000 in upgraded perimeter fencing. Through a Pennsylvania Safety Grant, the school also installed a campus-wide camera system. Additionally, the school renovated the solarium and is currently constructing a second floor on Fisher Hall with five classrooms, a large gathering space, and a kitchenette
Merion Mercy Academy in Merion Station opened new turf athletic fields in March, significantly upgrading its sports facilities. These were used during the spring season by lacrosse, softball, and track teams.
Center School in Abington completed several campus improvements this year, including a gym floor replacement, with the playground refresh expected by the end of the month.
Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Lower Gwynedd recently completed the largest capital project in its history, worth $12.5 million. This included the new Monarch Wing, featuring Connelly Commons with indoor and outdoor seating, a modern kitchen, and a school store, along with a new counseling center, four classrooms, and two conference rooms.
