The fourth annual Brian Westbrook Foundation charity golf tournament brought several former Eagles players, including Ike Reese and Trent Cole, to the Union League Liberty Hill golf course in Lafayette Hill, writes Ariel Simpson for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The event, which took place on Tuesday, was hosted by the Allied Resources Group and Brian Westbrook. It aimed to raise funds for the foundation’s expansion throughout Philadelphia. The nonprofit’s expansion will help empower the region’s youth through educational and financial literacy, STEM, entrepreneurship, and equestrian programming.
“The Brian Westbrook Foundation is truly about serving the community,” said Westbrook. “It’s about education, it’s about empowering, it’s about providing access and opportunity to young people and families as well. We’re trying to empower our young people – whether they want to go to college or whether they want to go to trade school or something else.”
The foundation’s initiatives, including a new geographic information system program that teaches drone mapping, data analysis, and digital storytelling to middle and high school students, directly benefit from the tournament’s proceeds.
