LINKS Magazine recently ranked the best golf courses in Pennsylvania and three Montgomery County courses made the Top 10 list.

Merion Golf Club East in Ardmore, which is considered “the finest inland links in the country,” is on the list. The course was designed by Hugh Wilson and made famous by golfers Bobby Jones and Ben Hogan.

Also on the list is The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Clubhouse in Flourtown. The course designer A.W. Tillinghast literally put his everything into his design. According to LINKS, he asked that his ashes be spread over the course where “he loved life the most.”

The Huntingdon Valley Country Club’s 18-hole Toomey/Flynn course was also recognized for its challenging landscape that tests the true mettle of all golfers who play there. The course designed by William Flynn and Howard Toomey first opened in 1928.
