Mark your calendars for Aug. 15. An unforgettable evening awaits at the historic Cairnwood Estate in Bryn Athyn.
The McCartney Foundation’s first-ever Gala Fundraising Event is set to dazzle guests with world-class music, fine dining, and the breathtaking ambiance of a Gilded Age mansion — all in support of a deeply meaningful mission.
At the heart of the evening is a private concert by internationally acclaimed Opera Tenor Stephen Costello, hailed by the UK Daily Express as “one of the world’s best tenors” and praised by the Associated Press as “a prodigiously gifted singer whose voice makes an immediate impact.”
Fresh off performances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, and the National Opera House of Romania, Costello will perform classic opera selections and songs from his upcoming album in an intimate, up-close setting. This is a rare opportunity for opera music lovers.
Guests will arrive at 7:00 PM to begin the night with cocktails and a private tour of the magnificent Cairnwood Mansion, a French-inspired architectural gem completed in 1895. The grandeur of the estate, designed by the famed Carrère and Hastings, provides the perfect backdrop for an evening of elegance. Following the tour, attendees will enjoy a sit-down dinner prepared by celebrated Chef Karen Spire on the terrace, overlooking the iconic Bryn Athyn Cathedral and the estate’s sweeping grounds.
But this gala is more than just an exceptional night out, but, more importantly, a launching point for the McCartney Foundation’s bold growth strategy.
The foundation, formed to carry on the legacy of the late Dr. Brian McCartney, aims to significantly expand its reach throughout the Delaware Valley, supporting education, mentorship, and summer camp programs for members of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community. It also seeks to invest in organizations that provide career development, job placement, and other resources for historically underserved members of the larger Bucks County community.
McCartney, born deaf, was a pioneering educator and advocate who graduated from Susquehanna University and earned his doctorate from Columbia University, and served as the first deaf superintendent of the Michigan School for the Deaf. His lifelong commitment to uplifting Deaf and special needs children lives on through the Foundation’s work.
By 2025, the McCartney Foundation will have given a quarter of a million dollars to organizations such as the Deaf-Hearing Communication Centre, Michigan School for the Deaf, Marist Brothers Summer Camp for Deaf Children, and Tuesdays Children, supporting Gold Star families.
All proceeds from this tax-deductible event will go directly toward expanding these impactful programs. Seating is extremely limited, and tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Reserve your seat here now.
