At Banana Nana Pudding in Jenkintown, Denée Bynum crafts eight unique banana pudding cup flavors from a cherished family recipe, reports Jalyn Green for 6abc.

“We incorporate our signature vanilla pudding in the majority of our flavors,” said Bynum.

Local favorites include the OG Classic, Apple Crumble, and Biscoff, made using the popular cookie.

Bynum learned to make banana pudding in Mount Airy from her grandmother during summers spent with her grandparents. Later on, she always used the family recipe to prepare pudding for her children’s school events and family functions, and it was always a huge hit.

After working as a contractor full-time for 16 years, her career ended due to an injury. While she was recovering, she lost her mother to COVID and her father a year later.

She found comfort in her cooking and soon began making her famous treats for her church once again. She took part in the Philabundance Community Kitchen program, which provided her with both a license and the confidence to serve.

Her business started as a pop-up and at special events, and was so successful that she opened a brick-and-mortar location in Jenkintown with her two children late last year.
