PA Economic Secretary Rick Siger Shares Vision with Montco Business Leaders

Montgomery County leaders and business owners heard from DCED Secretary Rick Siger about funding and local economic growth.

County officials, nonprofit leaders, and small business owners gathered with optimism in Conshohocken’s Great American Pub Ballroom on Tuesday morning. At an event hosted by the Montgomery County Industrial Development Authority (IDA), attendees heard directly from Pennsylvania Secretary for the Department of Community & Economic Development Rick Siger, who affirmed the Commonwealth’s commitment to supporting projects that create jobs, revitalize infrastructure, and grow innovation hubs—especially in Montgomery County.

The IDA has become a vital driver of economic progress in the region. From hospitals and schools to workforce housing and green energy, its work reflects a broad view of development. Commissioner Chair Neil Makhija highlighted recent IDA-backed investments—like $28 million for Gemma Services and $210 million for Einstein Medical Center—that are improving quality of life while building a stronger economic base.

Secretary Siger praised Montco’s collaborative approach and outlined the state’s new economic development blueprint, including $50 million in innovation funding, $30 million for life sciences, and proposals to streamline business support through new tax credits. He emphasized that the state’s ability to deliver on these goals depends on strong local partnerships like the one it shares with the Montco IDA.

In a fitting tribute to both state collaboration and local pride, the IDA presented Secretary Siger with a baseball bat from King of Prussia-based Victus Sports, customized in Montco’s maroon and grey.

As Montgomery County looks ahead to major 2026 events and continued growth, officials made clear: public-private teamwork and targeted investment remain central to the county’s future success.
