A striking mid-century home designed by renowned architect Richard Neutra is listed in King of Prussia for nearly $2.5 million, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home is surrounded by trees sits west of the Schuylkill Expressway. The King of Prussia Mall is just two miles away. The home is one of just six Neutra-designed homes in the Philadelphia area. Most of the buildings designed by one of the leading modernists of the mid-20th century are in Southern California.

“It’s the most beautiful place to live in and be in,” said Allen Fair, who purchased the Richard Neutra home with Nelson Tolentino in 2013.

One wing of the home houses the primary suite. The famous architect designed the addition, installed after his death in 1976. It features two glass walls and a freestanding fireplace.

The other four bedrooms are at the opposite end of the home. In the middle area are open living spaces with stunning views of the surrounding woods.

“It’s a sanctuary,” said Fair. “What’s amazing is you would just be able to look out on nature 365 [days] a year – snow, rain, fog, everything was just amazing.”
