The Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation recently held a pep rally-style event at LOVE Park to announced the launch of the new “Phambassadors” initiative.
The new program serves as a way for Philadelphia residents to celebrate and show pride in the city ahead of the numerous events coming into the city in 2026.
“It is more than just a campaign launch. It is the start of a movement that is rooted in the heart and the hustle and the humanity of Philadelphia’s people,” said Kathryn Ott Lovell, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation.
In simpler words, the program is a call to action “for everyone who loves this city,” she added.
The Phambassadors program will allow Philadelphians to amplify what the city truly represents as it becomes a platform for the global stage through 2026 and beyond.
Philadelphians can participate in this effort in a variety of ways. This includes supporting civic events, promoting good news, doing volunteer work, and much more.
The goal is to build a community of 10,000 champions of Philadelphia who will aim to shape the city’s true narrative.
The Phambassadors program also serves as a reminder.
“You don’t need to wait for a parade to be proud of where you’re from,” said City Representative Jazelle Jones.
