Mitchell Morgan Has a Full-Circle Moment at Temple Graduation

Temple honored Mitchell Morgan with an honorary degree as the billionaire CEO inspired graduates with his personal journey and advice.

Mitchell Morgan, founder and CEO of Conshohocken’s Morgan Properties, shares his success story at Temple University’s 138th commencement, writes Sidney Rochnik for Temple News.

Morgan earned both his undergraduate and law degrees at Temple. The University awarded him with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters during the ceremony. Morgan closed the event with a heartfelt address to the graduating class of 2025. Morgan shared how he went from selling shoes as a student to building one of the largest apartment ownership firms in the country, all while staying true to his Philly roots.

The real estate titan now leads a company with billions in assets and remains a prominent philanthropist and supporter of Temple. His story was honored as a quintessential “Temple Made” journey, reflecting the grit, ambition. These values are the ones the university seeks to instill in its students.

Morgan urged grads to stay open to opportunity and take small steps toward their goals. He also encouraged them to remain engaged with Temple: “You are smart, you are hardworking, and you are capable. You are lifelong learners. You are guided by values and principles. I wish you great success as you embark on this next chapter of your life.”
