He will start his dual role on May 5, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Delaware County EMS service
In related Crozer Health news, Delaware County announced Friday that funding has been secured for three months to operate four Advanced Life Support vehicles.
The vehicles will help reduce gaps in EMS coverage from the loss of Crozer EMS services while municipalities work on their own EMS arrangements.
The vehicles were acquired through a collaboration between Delaware County Council, Delaware County Legislative Delegation, and community partners.
The funding is coming from the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation, and Jefferson Health. It will be managed by The Foundation for Delaware County, which is waiving its management fees so all contributions can go toward residents’ healthcare needs.
The Advance Life Support Vehicles will begin servicing Delaware County on Saturday, May 3, at 8 AM.
“Delaware County’s leaders have been working around the clock to clean the mess left behind by Prospect’s desertion of our communities,” said Delaware County Council Chair Dr. Monica Taylor in a release. “This funding will help our municipalities provide emergency service coverage and potentially save lives.”
Many Delaware County communities have relied on Crozer’s emergency medical services for years as a way to offer patients advanced life support services in addition to regular ambulance service.
Crozer Worker Food Help
Bulk Foods Delco in Collingdale is providing food support to Crozer Health workers who were laid off this week with the hospital closings, writes Peg DeGrass for the Daily Times.
Owners Justin and Brieanna West said they were inspired to help after a worker came into their shop and said she had just been laid off after working 20 years for Crozer.
“After the woman left, I thought how she only bought $40 in food—and regretted that I didn’t just give it to her,” said Justin West. “This got me thinking how many others there are like her who just lost their jobs, and I began wondering how we can help them.”
It’s estimated about 2,600 Crozer Health workers have been laid off.
Bulk Foods Delco has since launched a matching crowdfunding drive on Facebook. Funds raised will be used to make care packages for the displaced workers.
West has promised to match donated dollars up to $5,000.
As of Thursday, the fund stood at $8,334. So far, 220 people have signed up to receive support.
West estimates they will need $10,000 to make food packages for 200 people.
