It’s Lucky No. 7 as Wawa Continues to Expand in Central PA

The seventh Central Pennsylvania Wawa store opens Feb. 27 in Hanover, continuing an expansion into Sheetz territory.

The 7th Central Pennsylvania Wawa store will open later this month as it continues to expand into Sheetz territory and beyond, writes Sue Gleiter for Penn Live.

The doors will open at 8 AM on Feb. 27 on a new Wawa at 1007 Baltimore Street in Hanover, York County. A ribbon cutting takes place at 8:30 AM.

For the opening, Wawa will make check donations to community partners and offer its traditional “Hoagies for Heroes” competition.

“We look forward to continuing to bring our unique brand of fresh food, beverages, and convenience to new areas and to further our commitment to providing the community with not only a new level of convenience but a strong, committed community partner,” said Dave Simonetti, senior director of Store Operations.

The Delaware County-centered convenience store chain plans to open 13 stores in Central Pennsylvania by the end of this year, with 40 stores planned in the region within five to seven years.

Last year, Wawa opened four stores in Lower Swatara Township, East Pennsboro Township, Dover, and York. Earlier in 2025 it opened stores in Williamsport and Chambersburg.

The Pennsylvania expansion, first announced in 2022, was the first time Wawa operated west of the Susquehanna River.
