Governor Josh Shapiro Talks Election, Trump, and the Eagles in the Playoffs

Governor Josh Shapiro spoke about his involvement in the 2024 election, working with Trump, and Eagles in the playoffs.

Governor Josh Shapiro reflected on his role in the 2024 election, and his thoughts on Trump, Pennsylvania, and the Eagles in a recent interview with Walter Perez for Action News.

Speaking from Adare Pharma Solutions in Northeast Philadelphia, the Abington native highlighted Pennsylvania’s efforts to attract businesses. Adare recently relocated from New Jersey, taking advantage of PA’s incentives. Shapiro expressed a focus on getting things done for Pennsylvanians.

The conversation began with Shapiro’s potential role in the presidential race. He was initially a front-runner to be Kamala Harris’ running mate, but he expressed no regrets. Shapiro has a passion for serving his home state. “I love my job. I love being able to do this work with the good people of Pennsylvania,” he said.

Shapiro noted his state’s independent voters, evident in President-elect Trump’s victory in Pennsylvania. The Democrat governor still remains popular with a divided state legislature.

Shapiro vowed to collaborate with the Trump administration while standing firm on his own values. He promised to respect the will of the people but also to stand up without hesitation if need be.

Regarding his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles, he likes their chances in the playoffs as he eyes a matchup against the Detroit Lions.
