With so many options, grocery shopping has become an increasingly arduous task for many, writes Sarah Maiellano for the Philadelphia Magazine.
“Somehow, I often end up having to go to six different stores – Wegmans, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Assi, Weavers Way, Target – at various points during the week in order to get everything my family needs, which drives me nuts,” said Una Kang, a Lower Gwynedd resident.
However, some are changing their approach. Rather than seeing grocery shopping as just another chore on her to-do list, Jessica Eisenberg of Glenside has turned it into a fun activity for her two kids.
“We all love grocery shopping and go as a family,” she said.
She does most of her shopping at George’s Market at Dreshertown. She likes that the store is family-owned and does not have many middle aisles, “so there isn’t a lot of opportunity for the kids to see 927,492 brands of packaged junk.”
