NMTCC’s Health and Human Services programs starting next semester include:
EKG Technician
Hours: 72 hours
Day(s): Monday and Wednesday, 6-9 PM
Fees: $1,150 and additional fee of $130 for Certification Exam payable to third-party testing agency.
Dates: Feb. 10 to May 19
Description: Program prepares students for real-world success as entry-level EKG technicians. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the cardiovascular system’s anatomy and physiology, obtain and interpret basic patient vital signs, and develop the skills to initiate CPR and first aid when needed. Participants will also master the purpose and application of EKG monitoring, perform 30 live EKGs, and provide patient care and assistance before, during, and after procedures. Externship is available.
Medical Assistant
Hours: 500 hours
Day(s): Tuesday and Thursday, 6-9 PM
Fees: $7,480.00 (all books are included) and additional fee of $130 for Certification Exam payable to third-party testing agency

Description: This comprehensive program prepares you for a job as a medical assistant. It covers essential topics such as Law and Ethics, Major Body Systems, and EKG procedures, ensuring you gain the knowledge and skills that are in high demand in today’s healthcare industry. In addition to a comprehensive curriculum, NMTCC’s program offers the opportunity to attain CPR certification for Healthcare Workers and national certification as a Medical Assistant, significantly enhancing your employability and career prospects. A laptop is recommended.
Phlebotomy Technician
Hours: 72 hours
Day(s): Monday and Wednesday, 6-9 PM
Fees: $1,150.00 and additional fee of $130 for Certification Exam payable to third-party testing agency
Dates: Jan. 13 to April 9
Description: Comprehensive program prepares you to work as a phlebotomy technician. Lectured topics include safety, anatomy, venipuncture, medical terminology, and specimen handling and processing. Optional clinical externship offers real-world experience. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to sit for a national certification exam. Uniform is required.
