Gazzos Steaks Expands with Ardmore Location After Viral Success
Gazzos Steaks, which started as a food truck two years ago and recently opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant, is planning on opening its newest location in Ardmore, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The new eatery will be moving into the space previously occupied by Corbino’s BBQ and Next Stop Coffee. Gazzos will provide window only service, but there are around ten parking spaces out front.
“In itself, that is pretty huge in that area,” said Joe Lewis, who runs Gazzos with Mike Lamson.
The eatery will have a patio for outside seating.
Lamson and Lewis, are married to sisters from the Pottstown area. The in-laws both moved there from South Philadelphia. They started the business when they were both dissatisfied with the local cheesesteaks.
Business at their food truck started slowly, but after their sandwiches were praised on TikTok by a local influencer, cheesesteak sales truly took off.
“Literally the day after, we went from like 12 to 50, to 100, to a couple of hundred to three hundred and then it kept going up and up and up,” said Lewis.
Soon they added another truck and finally a corner store in Pottstown.
