WCU Grad Joey Graziadei Takes Home Mirrorball Trophy on ‘Dancing with the Stars’
West Chester University graduate Joey Graziadei, who starred on ABC’s The Bachelor earlier this year, took home the Mirrorball Trophy on the latest season of Dancing with the Stars, writes Emily Bloch for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Collegeville native is the first Bachelor in franchise history to win the popular ballroom dancing show.
Together with his dance partner, Jenna Johnson, Graziadei beat out difficult competitors in the final rounds of the season, including Olympian gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, Olympian rugby player Ilona Maher, and Super Bowl wide receiver Danny Amendola.
In the finals, the pair did a tennis-themed freestyle performance, as a nod to Graziadei’s history as a tennis player and instructor.
His fiancé, Kelsey Anderson, whom he got engaged to on his season of The Bachelor, was there to cheer him on in the finale as she was throughout the entire show.
“It means everything,” said Graziadei after being announced the winner. “This experience has been unbelievable, honestly. Everyone from the beginning. Ilona, you have been amazing this season. I love you. All the finalists, the judges, thank you for bearing with us. I tried my best, I promise. Thank you.”
