Bucks County native Tracy Locke is spreading the love of football coast to coast as a professional comedian, writes Dave Uram for KYW Newsradio.

Locke has defied the odds throughout her life. She fell in love with football so much when young that she wanted to play. In the late 1970s, that was not common for girls, but she did not let naysayers deter her. She joined a youth league in Warminster and played for Warminster Pioneers.

“I stood in the line [to sign up], and I’ll never forget that I got up to the table and the people at the table were like, ‘No, no, no you’re in the wrong line. The cheerleading line is over there.’ And I was like, ‘No, no I’m in the right line. I want to play football,’” she recalled. “And I loved it.”

As an adult, she played for professional women’s football teams before transitioning to comedy. As a professional comedian, she traveled across the country, proudly supporting her favorite team, the Eagles.

Today, she runs a podcast Girls Gone Green with fellow comedian Donna Vaicels. The show provides a safe space for everyone to chat about football, no matter how much they know.
