Willow Grove Park Mall Introduces Evening Curfew: Teens Now Require Adult Supervision After Certain Hours

This month, teenagers are no longer allowed in the Willow Grove Park Mall after certain hours unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

As of October 1, the Willow Grove Park Mall does not allow teenagers to shop after certain hours unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, writes Kenny Cooper for the WHYY.

During weekdays and Saturdays, visitors under 18 cannot shop unaccompanied by an adult from 5 P.M. until closing. On Sundays, the rule goes into effect at 3 P.M. The mall may enforce the rule by prosecuting teens who refuse to leave for tresspassing.

The new Parental Supervision Policy affects the mall’s youth employees as well. If their shift ends after 5 p.m., they have to leave the mall immediately. Mall security will enforce the new rules by checking patron’s identification.

Willow Grove Park is committed to maintaining a secure, welcoming, and family-friendly environment for all of our guests,” said Romaine Crawford, the mall’s general manager. “This policy not only ensures that our guests can enjoy their shopping experience, but also fosters a secure environment for mall employees and visitors.”

The policy aims to address concerns “raised by both shoppers and local authorities about unsupervised minors gathering in large groups, which can sometimes disrupt the shopping experience,” said Willow Grove officials.
