Upper Dublin Police Thwart Lululemon Heist
Two Philadelphia suspects are in custody thanks to the swift and heroic actions of Upper Dublin police officers, reports Dino Ciliberti for the Patch. The officers thwarted a major theft at the Lululemon store in the Promenade at Upper Dublin. Officers responded to the scene just minutes after receiving a call about the theft in progress around 6:56 p.m. on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Randolph McCrary and Karimah Choice attempting to load two large trash bags filled with $12,000 worth of stolen merchandise into their vehicle. When the suspects tried to flee, the officers acted quickly to prevent their escape. The suspects recklessly drove onto the pedestrian sidewalk and into oncoming traffic, striking a responding police vehicle in the process. This courageous action by the officers disabled the suspects’ vehicle, forcing them to flee on foot.
Despite the suspects’ efforts to escape, officers were relentless in their pursuit. Choice attempted to break into an occupied vehicle but was immediately apprehended, while McCrary was caught a short distance from the crash site.
The dedication of the officers resulted in the recovery of all stolen property, which was promptly returned to Lululemon. Though two officers sustained minor injuries during the incident, their quick thinking and brave actions prevented further harm and led to the safe capture of both suspects.
In addition to facing charges for this incident, McCrary and Choice were also connected to two prior thefts from the same store. The Upper Moreland and Horsham Township police departments assisted in the operation, marking a collective effort to protect the community and bring the suspects to justice.
