Pages and Parchment Bookstore Opens New Chapter in Skippack

Independent bookstore Pages and Parchment celebrates its grand opening in Skippack with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Independent bookstore, Pages and Parchment celebrated its grand opening in Skippack on September 20, reports John Worthington for The Times Herald.

The cozy store held a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce. The event drew local officials, including Skippack Township Supervisor Karen Lynch, who expressed excitement over the town’s new addition.

“I can’t remember when we had a bookstore,” she said. “It’s been a while so we’re excited about it.”

Pages and Parchment owner Becky Fuhry has long dreamed of opening a bookstore. The opportunity arose when she learned that the Old Village Barn bookstore was for sale. Fuhry purchased the inventory and moved the store to a larger, more welcoming space in Green Wolf’s Village Barn Shoppes.

“It’s a little bigger and designed to have a homey feel for people to browse and hang out in,” said Fuhry. “I love it.”

The store offers a broad selection of genres, from biographies to horror, and offers special orders for hard-to-find books.

In addition to the wide selection, Pages and Parchment hosts regular events, including a bi-monthly book club and children’s storytime.

The store is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
