Freedom from Hunger Drive Returns for Year Ten to Provide for the Valley Forge Community

The Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board Kicks off the Freedom from Hunger Drive this month for the tenth year running.

Valley Forge’s Freedom from Hunger Drive is back for its tenth year. The drive aims to feed the hungry in the Valley Forge community by banding together with local businesses to raise money.

The Drive is a joint effort by the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board, and the Montco Anti-Hunger Network. The drive runs September through October.

While the Drive takes place in the fall, King of Prussia’s BarTaco got an early start. A portion of sales of their #givingtaco from July 24 – September 2 went to the fund.

Workhorse Brewing Company is donating $1 for every Oktoberfest beer sold on Fridays in September and October.

Other participating businesses include the King of Prussia Mall, Giant Food Stores in Willow Grove, King of Prussia, Wynnewood, and Norristown, Fogo de Chao, Black Powder Tavern, and more.

The Freedom from Hunger Drive started in 2015 as a farewell gift to Pope Francis who visited the Philadelphia area for the Meeting of Families.

The Freedom from Hunger Drive graciously accepts donations in the form of food or money. All proceeds support the Montco Anti-Hunger Network to bring resources to nearly 70 free meal providers.
