A Bryn Mawr pool house is a versatile gathering place that is ideal for entertaining both during the hottest days of summer and well into the winter months, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for the Main Line Today.
The stunning space features floor-to-ceiling glass doors that slide open to bring in the warmth during nice weather, and a fireplace to keep things warm during colder months.
The space was designed by a team from Philadelphia’s Shiftspace. The designers drew inspiration from the natural setting and installed a pool with an infinity edge on a ravine that descends to a creek. Meanwhile, the pool house complements the contemporary vibe using natural materials.
“On the exterior, we used the same local Pennsylvania stone as the main house, with a metal roof,” said Mario Gentile, Shiftspace partner and studio director. “On the interior, we embraced materials with warmth and texture, including natural stone, wood, and tile.”
The main gathering area features a bar with woodland views and a chef’s kitchen with outdoor seating and a barbecue.
Among many other amenities are a bathroom, the laundry room, and a changing room.
