Side by Side and World’s Apart: A Look Inside These Deceptively Similar Wynnewood Homes

Similar-looking Wynnewood homes.

Two colonials that sit next door from each other in the middle of Wynnewood look like carbon copies from the outside, but looks can be deceiving, explains Sally A. Downey for MSN.

Both houses, built around 1939, share the same stone facade. Both are two stories with four bedrooms, and a bay window out front. Once inside, however, guests are welcomed into two very different homes.

Adrian and Steven Seltzer purchased the first house in 1985 and remodeled the kitchen in the late 90s. They replaced the stove with a combination steam oven and warming drawer. The yellow backsplash highlights the art glass in the living room and is a nod to Adrian’s collection of miniature houses from France. The floor is made of engineered wood.

Next-door neighbors, Lisa and Dave Taddei purchased their home in 2008. Lisa explains that they originally meant to fix a leaky sink, but the project evolved to remodeling the kitchen, family room, mudroom, and powder room. The charcoal TV and fireplace unit match the flooring in the kitchen. The floor is contrasted against brilliant white countertops and a gray stone backsplash to offer a sleek modern look.

Both homes were featured on Ardmore Library’s Kitchen Tour.
