When Gerrie Pennock and her husband Michael were house-hunting two decades ago, a beautiful Japanese maple in the yard solidified their decision to buy a lovely Cape Cod in Huntingdon Valley, writes Paul Jablow for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
“It took my breath away,” said Pennock.
The pair also liked that the home had plenty of room for entertaining and for their grandchildren to visit.
After her husband died two years ago, Pennock decided to sell the home and move to a retirement community in Warminster.
This four-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home features refinished oak hardwood floors in the foyer, living room, and sitting areas. The latter also boasts a wood-burning stone fireplace and double windows.
The kitchen offers plenty of cabinet space, a center island, and prep sink.
The main floor is also home to two bedrooms, including the primary suite with two closets, a ceiling fan, and a bath.
Two more bedrooms can be found on the second floor, as well as multiple cedar closets.
The house is perfectly positioned close to Huntingdon Valley Country Club, the Pennypack Trail, and the many shops and eateries of Jenkintown and Willow Grove.
