Agnes Irwin School in Rosemont has its sight set on the future, as Head of School, Sally Keidel talks about life on campus after the pandemic and plans to bolster the school in coming years.

Rosemont’s Agnes Irwin School is poised for an exciting renewal in the coming years. Lisa Dukart spoke about the future with Agnes Irwin School’s head of school, Sally Keidel, for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Keidel is a veteran of education. She got her Masters in education leadership at the University of Pennsylvania. She returned to Agnes Irwin in July 2020 after six years leading the Montgomery School in Chester Springs. Previously, she was Agnes Irwin’s assistant head of school.

Four years after assuming her role and enduring the pandemic, Keidel is excited about reconnecting with the Agnes Irwin community.

“One of the things that I’m really proud of is just the way we’ve been able to bring back events and build community in a way that people feel really connected to the institution and to each other,” she said.

Keidel said that the all-girls school is in the early stages of a plan to enhance the academic program and the well-being of the students. School leaders held a meeting this summer to discuss faculty and what needs improvement.

Keidel also plans to roll out a capital campaign to increase their endowment. “… if the endowment is a little bit larger, that gives more support to professional development for faculty,” Keidel said.

The school is also making strides to keep up with the times. They recently added a golf simulator to the fitness center, and the faculty is discussing how to incorporate artificial intelligence into the classroom.
