For Montgomery County Alternate GOP Delegate, Week of RNC Feels Heavier Than Expected
GOP delegates from Pennsylvania, including Drew Morrisroe, an alternate delegate from eastern Blue Bell, are prepared to welcome Trump at the Republican National Convention after the assassination attempt at his rally in Western Pennsylvania, write Julia Terruso and Katie Bernard for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Trump was recovering over the weekend after a bullet pierced his ear, but he released a statement that he would still travel to Milwaukee for the convention.
The delegates gathered at the Philadelphia airport Sunday. Some of them were still processing the events that took place at the rally.
“We woke up in a different America today,” said one man.
Morrisroe was expecting that his first political convention would be a joyful celebration. However, now this week feels heavier.
