The merger is expected to reach a definitive agreement within weeks, as announced by the leaders of both organizations.

Since signing a letter of intent in January, Doylestown Health and Penn Health System have been evaluating the merger’s feasibility.

For fiscal 2024, they aim to trim losses to $6.7 million, a target they are confident of achieving.

Kevin Mahoney, CEO of Penn Health System, expressed optimism about the merger, stating that final agreements are expected by mid-August.

This merger aims to improve the advanced services available at Doylestown Hospital, providing comprehensive care closer to home for Bucks County residents.

Additionally, Penn Health System plans to break ground on a new ambulatory care center in Montgomery Township by March.
