Ardmore native Benj Pasek has been nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on "Only Murders in the Building." If he wins, he win be the newest EGOT winner.

Ardmore native Benj Pasek is one of the most decorated performers in show business and is one step away from achieving the most coveted accomplishment in the industry, becoming an EGOT winner, writes Kristen Hunt for PhillyVoice.

The EGOT club is reserved for individuals to earn each of the four major entertainment awards: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.

To date, only 19 people have earned the illustrious distinction.

Pasek is currently in the running to accomplish the feat as he was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music and Lyrics category for his work on the Hulu comedy, “Only Murders in the Building.”

The series also co-stars fellow Philadelphia-area native, Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

At 39 years old, Pasek would tie the record for the young EGOT winner in history if he does indeed win an Emmy this fall.

Composer Robert Lopez is the youngest EGOT winner, completing the feat by winning an Academy Award for Best Song with “Let It Go” in 2014.
