Following a record donation of $6 million in December, Bala Cynwyd billionaire Jeff Yass has given another $4 million to Governor Greg Abbott’s campaign, writes Annie Massa for Bloomberg.

The December contribution was the largest single political donation in Texas’ history.

The co-founder of Susquehanna International Group made the latest contribution in April. The donation represents the majority of the more than $5 million the Texas governor has collected in the first half of the year.

Yass, who is worth an estimated $47.1 billion, has primarily been giving to Republican politicians in Pennsylvania and those nationwide who support school choice programs. These pay for private education using taxpayer money. Abbott, who has been governor since 2015, has been championing that particular cause in Texas.
