Many people try all kinds of things to get new results in life. Whether you’re working toward personal goals, family goals or business and financial goals, it’s hard to achieve new results if you don’t act in a new or different way.
Our mindset and perspective shape the meaning we give to our experiences and influence how we respond and react to different situations. When our senses take in information, our brain labels that information based on our beliefs, ideas, goals, fears, and memories. This is a subconscious process, which means that it’s important to evaluate what our thoughts and beliefs are.
When we slow down and press pause, we can choose how we respond to a situation, rather than reacting from our past conditioning. When we make the choice to respond in a different way, we get a different result, but when we react in the way we’ve always reacted, we will get our same results.
We all have different beliefs and stories that we tell ourselves that influence our thoughts and behaviors. What helps us to grow and achieve different results is taking the time to reevaluate whether these patterns are helping us achieve the response we want. Often, we are reacting or responding from our old programming because they become a habit. Once a habit forms, it can be easy to always react from the same way because it’s a subconscious pattern. Some people estimate that up to 95 percent of our thinking is subconscious.
In order to change our reaction to things, we can shift our perspective. A different perspective allows us to look at things from a new angle. When you develop a new mindset through a new perspective, you can use your best thinking and achieve the results you’ve been hoping for.
The things that we place value on are often what we perceive to have value. We resist things that we believe take value away or threaten the quality of our lives. Every choice we make we justify because we believe it is the best thing for ourselves in that moment.
Everyone has biases and assets that shape our thoughts and reactions. When you act out of your biases, you keep yourself from achieving your best life. When you commit to doing the work to learn, grow, reflect, and choose new reactions, you can access new ways of thinking to help you achieve results in life and business.
