New June Bakery in Fairmount/Brewerytown prepares delicious three-layered cakes intricately adorned with silky buttercream. A heart-shaped cake decorated with vintage buttercream frills and edible glitter-coated cherries is one of the customer favorites.
Mini Cakes are vintage-style six-inch cakes prepared in the owner’s South Philadelphia kitchen that can be ordered through Instagram. There are three cake flavors, including a saffron-soaked almond sponge cake called “Persian Love,” sour cherry berry, and tahini fudge.
If you want to get a cake from Beyoncé’s go-to Philly bakers, head to Cake Life in Fishtown. Highlights include a three-layer funfetti vanilla with vanilla buttercream, which is a Beyoncé birthday favorite.
Meanwhile, Party Girl Bake Club has delicious flavors that change seasonally. Some of the local favorites include a two-layered black sesame and coconut chiffon cake and a pretzel crunch cake topped with strawberry jelly squares and house-made buttercream.
