The Little Blue Owl Baking Company, which opened in the former La Petit Mitron space in 2022, is fast becoming a firm foodie favorite in Narberth, writes Ben Silver for the Main Line Today.
Owners Angela and Andrew Ling are quick to admit that they made a mistake when they first took over the shop by keeping the old name but changing everything else about it, from the interior and recipes to the menu.
“Everyone just ended up being really confused,” said Andrew.
Once they changed the name to the Little Blue Owl, they started creating their own legacy. The couple are true bakers, and that is evident in their pastries. Their croissants, which are soft on the outside and flaky on the inside, are among the best in the Philadelphia region.
While the bakery is French-inspired by design, it is also considered to be partially American, which gives the owners the freedom to experiment and expand on established concepts.
“When you say French-American, it pretty much means you can do whatever you want, because American [culture] is already pan-global,” said Andrew.
