There are plenty of amazing hoagies in Southeastern Pennsylvania outside of Philadelphia, and some of the best are in and around Montgomery County, writes Patrick Berkery for The Keystone.

Carlino’s in Ardmore is best known for its selection of specialty groceries and prepared foods, but its hoagies are the true stars. One of the highlights is the delicious Angela’s Choice with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and pesto.

Do not miss Eve’s Lunch in Norristown, which has been serving tasty zeps – hoagies believed to have originated in Norristown that keep it real simple – since 1965 and gets local “best of” awards consistently.

Silvio’s Deli in Hatboro keeps its options simple but classic with hoagies from 6 inches to 24 inches in size. You can also add extras such as hot peppers, cherry peppers, and pickles.

For “a taste of the city in the suburbs,” head to Sonny’s Italian Deli in Royersford. Make sure to try the tasty Philly Dilly with cooked salami, hot ham, Genoa salami, prosciutto, lettuce, onion, tomato, oil, and vinegar.
