George Kline, the owner of West Hanover Winery which has locations in Pottstown and Harrisburg, has decided to retire from the vino business, writes Mac Bell for ABC27.

Kline said he and his wife decided to close the winery because of his health problems and desire to enjoy life.

“I have been having some health problems and I am 83 years old,” he explained. “After doing it [for 31 years] I just don’t want to do it anymore.”

The winery’s Pottstown location at 3416 Saint Peter’s Road closed on December 1. The Harrisburg location at 7646 Jonestown Road will close its doors on Sunday, December 31.

Kline still has 3,000 gallons of wine for sale in bulk for anyone looking to stock up — call (717) 608-0244 for more information.
