Waverly Flower Co., formerly known as Wavy Roo Florals, will be opening a new floral studio in Skippack in April, writes John Worthington for Main Line Times & Suburban.

The new studio, located on Cressman Road, will use homegrown and other locally sourced flowers and foliage in its wedding arrangements.

“We have a special focus on sustainability and sourcing locally,” owner Alanna Messner-Scholl said.

Messner-Scholl said that they like to meet with brides and grooms at least 6-9 months before the wedding to learn what types of flowers they envision for their big day. These ideas are then used to decide what flowers to grow in their gardens.

Waverly Flower Co. also believes in paying it forward to the neighboring community. Many of the wedding flowers are donated to local non-profit organizations after receptions.

“We are fortunate to serve some incredibly generous brides and grooms who opt to donate most of their wedding flowers after the reception,” Messner-Scholl said.

“This year, we plan to work with a handful of senior living facilities, hospitals, and women’s shelters.”
