Pennsylvania American Water’s Kara Rahn, who was recently promoted to Director of Organizational Change Management, has been named as one of City and State’s Above & Beyond Award Recipients, writes Hilary Danailova for the outlet.

Formerly the Senior Manager of Government and External Affairs at Pennsylvania American Water, Rahn’s exceptional communication skills stood out during pivotal moments such as overseeing significant hand-ballot recounts and adapting to changing regulatory environments in corporate utilities.

Expressing her enthusiasm for tackling new challenges, Rahn emphasized the importance of adaptability in facing issues like water-quality compliance and local legislative changes.

During the 2016 election cycle, Rahn demonstrated her adeptness as Chester County’s election director, managing a ballot recount amidst national scrutiny.

Drawing from her father’s entrepreneurial background and her own experience in communications, notably at the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Rahn developed a passion for understanding and articulating legislation’s impact on businesses.

Reflecting on her career, Rahn acknowledged the balance between professional ambition and personal responsibilities, advocating for women to prioritize their needs for success and seek supportive employers.
