Milk Jawn opened its first location in East Passyunk in 2021 and is opening its second later this year.

Milk Jawn, the popular ice cream shop, will be opening a second location in Northern Liberties this June, writes Michael Tanenbaum for PhillyVoice.

The new location will be at the former space of Just Cravings, an ice cream shop that recently closed.

Milk Jawn, which started out as an online delivery operation in 2020, opened its first store in East Passyunk in 2021.

Amy Wilson founded the small business out of her home kitchen.

It has since grown exponentially with the help of co-owners Ryan Miller and Cathryn Sanderson.

Philly really embraced us when all we did was take online orders and delivered ice cream, and it embraced us again when we went into farmers’ markets. But now, the response we’ve gotten since opening our first brick and mortar blew away even our wildest expectations,” Wilson said Monday.

Milk Jawn’s ice cream flavors include tahini fudge swirl, pistachio, double fold vanilla, and a dark chocolate and raspberry blend called Thriller Night.

There are also vegan flavors and specialty treats.

As Northern Liberties gains a new ice cream shop, the neighborhood will lose Heritage, the bar and restaurant known for its brunch, whiskey, and live music.

It will be closing its doors on March 10 after nine years in operation.
