“We make over 300 products year-round,” said Chester Asher, Asher's Chocolate Company Director of Marketing. “Everything you can imagine. From straight pieces of chocolate to marvelously decorated confections.”

Asher’s Chocolate Company in Souderton is a family-owned chocolate maker that has been creating delicious treats for five generations, reports Dan Sheridan for 6abc.

Depending on the time of the year, the chocolate factory makes anywhere between 10,000 and 15,000 pounds of products every day.

“We make over 300 products year-round,” said Chester Asher, Asher’s Chocolate Company Director of Marketing. “Everything you can imagine. From straight pieces of chocolate to marvelously decorated confections.”

The company was formed in 1892.

Asher’s “was founded by my great-great-grandfather Chester Asher,” said Asher. “Before moving down to Philadelphia where he started his candy company in Center City, before moving to Germantown where we remained for about a 100 years, before moving out to Montgomery County where we are now.”

Visitors can observe the chocolate-making process from a long corridor that starts from the beginning of the process and goes right down to the end. At any time of day, there are dozens of different treats being prepared and packed to be shipped out.
