Are you ready for a Wawa prefabricated drive-thru store? The Delaware County convenience store giant is planning four locations, writes Erica Scalise for The U.S. Sun.

Though its first standalone drive-thru store opened more than two years ago in Bucks County, these prefabricated stores can be built and set up quickly, helping Wawa as it doubles its store locations nationwide through 2030.

“Not only is this a new store for Wawa, but it’s a new program,” said Greg Oniskey, director of sales for Modlogiq, the construction company building the new stores.

‘The first prefabricated drive-thru Wawa store will be coming to Trexlertown in Lehigh County on Feb. 8 using modular construction methods.

The next will be in Lago, Florida, with more to follow elsewhere.

The buildings are created off-site with some pieces assembled on location, according to Restaurant Dive, quoting a Modlogiq spokesperson.

It takes about 40 days to build a modular Wawa off-site, then a few days of assembly at the location, followed by a certificate of occupancy within 20 working days.

.Wawa is joining companies like Quiznos and Starbucks, which have also started using prefabricated restaurant-like drive-thrus.
