Upper Moreland Township will now be able to expand the 5.2-mile Power Line Trail into Montgomery and Upper Gwynedd townships to the west, writes Ryan Genova for Glenside Local.

The $2,465,780 in funding will come from the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission’s Regional Technical Committee, according to the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.

The committee has contributed a total of $5.26 million to the Greater Philadelphia area’s Circuit Trails project.

No timeline has been given for the expansion yet, but the completion of the Circuit Trails Coalition campaign goal of 500 completed miles is slated for 2025.

The campaign also includes the Route 202 Parkway Trail, the Pennypack Trail, and the Cross County Trail.
