‘It Takes a Village’ coming to Villanova University

Some of the brightest minds in the world of addiction treatment and recovery will assemble to present “It Takes a Village: Resources for Overcoming Addiction Through Long Term Recovery.”

The event, which will be held Saturday, October 20 is free to the public and is being presented by the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing of Villanova University and Friends of the Manor, 501c3 charitable foundation affiliated with Manor of Hope.

The event,  described as “a day of public education, healing and hope” will take place at Villanova University’s Connelly Center.

Philadelphia news icon Lisa Thomas-Laury will serve as moderator for the day’s events.  Featured speakers will include notable Montgomery County Drug Court architect and Common Pleas Judge Steven O’Neill, Dr. Deni Carise, Chief Medical Officer with Recovery Centers of America, Dr. Elisabeth Van Bockstaele, Dean of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Drexel University, Dr. Terry Horton, Chief of Christiana Care’s Addiction Medicine, John I McMahon, noted Defense Attorney and many more. Topics will include Addiction and the Family, Changes in our Legal System, and the Disease of Addiction Explained. The event is free to the public and includes lunch; however, registration is required.
