TGI Fridays at Willow Grove Park Mall Closing Along with a New Jersey Location
TGI Fridays at the Willow Grove Park Mall closed its doors on Tuesday at the same time as the brand’s restaurants in Marlton, New Jersey, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.
The restaurant chain shuttered 36 underperforming locations across the country last week.
In New Jersey, 7 TGIFs have been closed, including one in Princeton.
“By strengthening our franchise model and closing underperforming stores, we are creating an unprecedented opportunity for Fridays to drive forward its vision for the future,” the company’s U.S. president and COO Ray Risley said.
The closures will help “optimize and streamline” operations, he added.
There are still local TGIFs in the region in Philadelphia, Bensalem, Langhorne, Cherry Hill, Turnersville, and Burlington Township.
Former CEO Ray Blanchette has also purchased eight of the corporate-owned locations in the Northeast.
