What a lot of Montgomery County residents consider one of their favorite BYOB restaurants is expanding again, this time to another location that will have a complete bar to service its clientele.

The next occupants of the former arts center at 311 W. Main St. in Lansdale have cleared a big hurdle toward bringing a new business to town, writes Dan Sokil for The Reporter.

Owner Brian Halligan, attorney Ed McHugh, and restaurant operator Nick Ciaffone described their plans for “From the Boot,” an Italian restaurant that currently has four locations in the greater Philadelphia area, and they want to bring a new one to the heart of Lansdale’s downtown.

“It would be a full service, casual restaurant specializing in Italian food — of course, of the highest quality — at a moderate price,” Ciaffone said.

“It will be suitable for everyday dining, and a great place for special occasions. Our motto is consistently good food, professional service, a comfortable environment, at an affordable price,” he said.

From the Boot currently has locations in Lafayette Hill, which has been open for roughly 20 years; in Ambler next to that borough’s movie theater; on DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell, and a recently opened restaurant in Wayne with a wood-fired brick pizza oven, according to the trio. The Lansdale restaurant would be comparable in size to the Ambler one, with 100 to 120 seats and an additional 15 to 20 seats at a full-service bar, and food offerings are still to be finalized but would largely feature pastas and could also include pizza.
