Medium Rare will be coming to Fishtown before the end of the year.

Fishtown will soon have a new steakhouse as Medium Rare will be making its Philadelphia debut in late 2024, writes John Paul Titlow for PhillyVoice.

Medium Rare was founded in 2011, and already operates restaurants in Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Maryland, and Virginia.

Throughout its decade-plus in operation, the steakhouse chain has become known for its steak frites, which is the only dinner entrée offered.

Steakhouse also offers desserts, a weekend brunch menu, and a full bar with wine, liquor, and four beers on tap, including the Belgium beer Delirium Tremens and three locally brewed draft beers.

The new Fishtown location will house 100 seats and a 4,000-square-foot dining room.

Medium Rare is the latest addition to the restaurant boom Fishtown has seen in the past several months.

According to Fishtown District’s 2023 annual report, Fishtown has opened 19 new food-and-drink establishments in the neighborhood and several more are on the way.

Despite getting its start in the Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington, D.C., Medium Rare has roots in the Philadelphia region.

The chain’s co-founder Mark Bucher is a native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
